Well, this week has been interesting to say the least. Monkey has been in school all week. Monday he had a “green” day (no major issues resulting in a warning or more severe consequence.) Tuesday, I went to pick him up and his teacher is waiting with him. She comes out and said that he had a “wonderful” day. That she even used him as an example several times that day, as he was sitting so nicely and reading his book as he was directed to do. YEAH! Much better than last weeks daily report that he was talking excessively in class.
Squeek finally started Kindergarten (all the time now, no more daycare) yesterday. He had a really good day. He was so proud that he got to color and write his name. Yeah! Oh, and no phone calls home yet saying he is refusing to do his work, as is his normal. So this is a great start!
Hoping that things will continue on this way at least for a while. Next week is going to be hectic with a birthday, party, and Ma being gone to the race. So hopefully things will stay sort of settled. I’m hoping.

Well, again the school year is a crazy mess. So school started tuesday with a half day. Wednesday both Monkey and Squeek got to go to school all day. Today, in service workshop. This is crazy. Just start school already or dont. Squeek does not go back to school until next week on Wednesday. Monkey goes tomorrow and all next week. Ugh! Just a few more days and they will both be at the same place again. Its crazy.
Third grade Orientation today for Monkey’s class. Wow, I can see the issues that will come up this year. Finally got the TCAP scores, and he did really well in most areas, but there were a few that were not as high as he is capable of. The school can argue all they want about him “not” being an Aspie, but they will see. This year will be the start. Monkey does such a good job of trying to be normal and holding it together during the day at school, and at home we have lots of releasing. I am convinced that he will start slipping at school because of the stress he will be under. We will see.

Yesterday was the big day. The start of third grade for Monkey and Kindergarten orientation for Squeek. Only 2 hours, and already Monkey has had to sit at the front of the class for talking. (Not complaining mind you, he just talks too much.) Monkey had a very enjoyable few hours seeing his classmates and meeting his new teacher. He has real books (not workbooks this year mom.) He’s very excited. Today was better. All day at school trying to get back to his beloved routine. Things will settle soon, as always. The big news for Monkey was that today, while escorting Mimi (grandma) and Squeek to Squeek’s classroom, Monkey waited patiently for Squeek’s teacher to appear and take his little brother into the classroom. He refused (politely) to go to his classroom until Squeek was exactly where he was supposed to be (with his teacher inside his own classroom.) He then went on his merry way down the hallway to his own classroom. I’m so proud of him. He takes such good care of his little brother.
Squeek’s day yesterday was not as good, though he himself was on his best behavior during the orientation. He was feeling a bit sickly, and unlike my normal Squeek, he clung to me and laid on me throughout the meeting. Poor guy did not feel well. Anyways, he was very quiet with no whinning (YEAH!) or fussing. Today he was bouncing he was so excited to be going to “big” school. He loved it. No issues at all. I’m so proud of this little guy.
