Yesterday was the big day. The start of third grade for Monkey and Kindergarten orientation for Squeek. Only 2 hours, and already Monkey has had to sit at the front of the class for talking. (Not complaining mind you, he just talks too much.) Monkey had a very enjoyable few hours seeing his classmates and meeting his new teacher. He has real books (not workbooks this year mom.) He’s very excited. Today was better. All day at school trying to get back to his beloved routine. Things will settle soon, as always. The big news for Monkey was that today, while escorting Mimi (grandma) and Squeek to Squeek’s classroom, Monkey waited patiently for Squeek’s teacher to appear and take his little brother into the classroom. He refused (politely) to go to his classroom until Squeek was exactly where he was supposed to be (with his teacher inside his own classroom.) He then went on his merry way down the hallway to his own classroom. I’m so proud of him. He takes such good care of his little brother.
Squeek’s day yesterday was not as good, though he himself was on his best behavior during the orientation. He was feeling a bit sickly, and unlike my normal Squeek, he clung to me and laid on me throughout the meeting. Poor guy did not feel well. Anyways, he was very quiet with no whinning (YEAH!) or fussing. Today he was bouncing he was so excited to be going to “big” school. He loved it. No issues at all. I’m so proud of this little guy.
